Mendy Lipsker of Mendy Realty, Inc. (www.mendyrealty.com) talks about dreams and how anyone can accomplish theirs if they don't stress about failing first.Today, people are busy and pushing to be successful, whatever their goals in life. What they don’t realize is that sometimes if you take a step back and relax, you will find the success that you are seeking. If a musician or artist is under stress, they find their creativity stifled. When a composer writes a composition or an artist creates a piece of art, they always do it when they are in a relaxed state of mind, not when they are stressed out thinking, “Oh, I have a goal and I must do it.”

You have to have big goals and big dreams. Believe in yourself and know that your goal is possible. For instance, the first people to climb Mt. Everest were Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay on May 29, 1953. So many people wanted to do it. Many tried and were not successful. Many died doing it and many people said it was not possible. But Sir Edmund believed it could be done and they went to the top. Since then, more than 1,000 people have been successful in doing it, too.

Thomas Edison failed ten thousand times before he could “light up the world,” literally. When Mr. Edison was asked if he failed that many times, he said, “I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.”

Andrew Carnegie is someone I admire a lot and I have read a lot about him. He has this one quote that I’ve seen:

“Any idea that is held in the mind that is either feared or revered will begin at once to clothe itself in the most convenient and appropriate physical forms available.”

If you constantly think about something and how to achieve it, even though you don’t know how you are going to do it, that is not what’s important. Just know and believe that it can be done.

All of these examples are of people with big dreams. But it is not just about having the dream, but actually it’s achieving it too. If you have the dream and you know it is possible, eventually you can have a breakthrough. It may not be exactly when you want it, but if you keep at it, it will happen.

Money is not the only thing important in life. Be a little bit relaxed on the one side, but still have your dreams and know that everything is possible on the other side. Stick to it and do not look at things as failures but as stepping stones to get you where you want to go.
